ChatGPT for Kakao is a third-party service that lets you use ChatGPT inside KakaoTalk. There is no separate app to install. Open KakaoTalk, go to the Chat tab, then tap the ChatGPT button to start a conversation. You can share answers into your chatrooms or ask ChatGPT from within a chat.
ChatGPT for Kakao is co-developed by Kakao and OpenAI. It combines Kakao’s platform and services with the latest generation of OpenAI’s models to provide a natural, chat-like AI experience for daily use.
Existing ChatGPT users can link an OpenAI account for a seamless experience. New users can start in KakaoTalk with a Kakao account, or try ChatGPT without an account where available. If you sign up through KakaoTalk, you can use that same account in the ChatGPT app.
ChatGPT for Kakao is only available in Korea.

Account linking and sign-in
Link an existing ChatGPT account: If you already use ChatGPT, link your ChatGPT account to keep track of your ChatGPT for Kakao history in ChatGPT.
Sign up with Kakao: You can start with your Kakao account, and a ChatGPT account will be created using your Kakao account information.
Use across apps: If you signed up through KakaoTalk, that same account also works in the ChatGPT app.
How to start in KakaoTalk
Open KakaoTalk.
Go to the Chat tab.
Tap ChatGPT at the top of the tab to begin.
Type your question and send.
To share an answer in a chat, use the share options provided in ChatGPT for Kakao.
To ask ChatGPT from an ongoing chat, use the in-chat shortcut where available.

When you use ChatGPT for Kakao, your conversation is processed to provide the service. If a Kakao Tool is used, relevant details are shared with that Kakao service to fulfill your request. Data handling, retention, and permissions in Kakao follow Kakao’s policies for Kakao and the OpenAI policies and controls apply to the copy of every conversation that is in ChatGPT.
